Charles Smith, Jr. has been an
entrepreneur the majority of his adult life. Rising early to managerial
levels before age 20, Charles entered the lighting business in sales and
design by age 22. While companies were downsizing in the early 80's and
implementing cut-backs, Charles boosted company revenues by implementing
lease programs for lighting fixtures. The lease program innovation staved
off his firms lay-offs as customer savings in energy costs were realized.
Charles' concept of a lease program enabled numerous retailers and
factories to install energy efficient fixtures which created profits for
clientele in excess of the lease costs.
Desiring a slower paced life, Charles
investigated innumerable different enterprises and franchise
opportunities, seeking "the perfect job". Included in his various
investigations were: Ice Cream Shops, Consultant, Mail-Order, Restaurants,
Coffee/Donut Franchise, Home Inspections, Oil Change Franchise, Mortgage
Broker, Real Estate Agent, Real Estate Appraiser, Mobil Auto Repair
Service, Lock Smith, Handyman Services, Convenience and Retail Outlet
Franchises, Hair and Beauty Salon, General Construction Contractor,
Mortgage Field Services, and many many more. Many of these
businesses were actually entered into either as a start-up or due to
invitations from his consulting clients to partner with them due to his
extensive knowledge and innovative thought processes. |
